SUBJECT: I am opposed to H.R. 1409-- Card Check legislation
Congresswoman Halvorson,
As a constituent in your congressional district, I would like to express my opposition to HR 1409, the Employee Free Choice Act. It has come to my attention that you have signed on as a co-sponsor of this legislation. I must respectfully disagree with your opinion and hope that you will reconsider. The economic backbone of our community is made up of small to medium size businesses; many that are family owned, not the corporate giants that have been characterized by the news media on this issue. As someone whose family is a member of our business community, I hope that you will recognize and appreciate the risk this legislation has to the very fabric of our economy, and the negative impact it can have on the workforce in this district. I encourage you to vote No on EFCA. Thank you.
